Larry Locken

In Memory of Larry Locken.

With gratitude for a life well lived, we share that Larry Locken, a retired Endorsed Missionary of Grant Church, has gone home to be with the Lord.

Larry's parents were among the founding members of Grant Church on Ellen Avenue. In the mid-1960s, Larry and Joy joined Word of Life, serving for many years in Germany before moving to Kenya in 1980, where Larry led the ministry. They later returned to Germany and, in 2002, settled in British Columbia to care for Joy's aging parents. Larry then served for about a decade as Music Pastor at Clearbrook MB Church.

Larry and Joy faithfully served together throughout their lives, opening their home to many and investing in the ministry of Word of Life through music, leadership, and hospitality. Larry will be remembered for his beautiful singing voice, his servant's heart, and his love for the Lord.

Joy passed away in February 2021. We rejoice that they are now together in the presence of their Saviour.

Larry is survived by his son, Tim, and his family, and his daughter, Linda, and her husband
