Workshops

Engaging People with Complex Life Stories

Chris Buffington, Forward House Ministries

Many people carry stories marked by incarceration, addiction, homelessness, mental illness, trauma, or deep personal loss. While many people genuinely want to help, they often feel uncertain about what to say, how to respond, or where healthy boundaries begin. This workshop will equip you with practical tools for building authentic, Christ-centred relationships that communicate hope without judgment, fear, or unrealistic expectations. Through real-life stories and practical insights, you'll learn how to see people the way Jesus does and become a compassionate presence that points others toward lasting transformation.

Parenting with Purpose

Greg and Darcey Adrian

Raising children to know and follow Jesus is one of the greatest opportunities and responsibilities God gives us. In a culture filled with competing influences, parents need both wisdom and intentionality. This workshop will provide biblical insight and practical tools for nurturing faith, building strong relationships, and guiding children through every stage of development. Whether you are parenting toddlers, teenagers, or somewhere in between, you will leave equipped to make a lasting spiritual impact.

Secure: Finding Your Identity in Christ

Daniel and Laura, YFC Italy

Many people struggle to find lasting significance in a world that constantly measures worth by performance, appearance, or success. Scripture offers a better foundation. This workshop will explore what it means to be fully known, fully loved, and fully accepted as a child of God. Discover how understanding your identity in Christ can transform your confidence, deepen your faith, and shape the way you live each day.

How We Got the Bible and Why It Matters

Darryl Rempel, Linden Christian School

The Bible stands at the center of the Christian faith, but where did it come from, and why can we trust it? This workshop will trace the remarkable story of how Scripture was written, collected, preserved, translated, and passed down through generations. Gain a deeper understanding of the reliability and authority of God's Word and leave with greater confidence in the Bible you read and study today.

Leading Without a Title

Terry Janke

You do not need a position of authority to make a significant impact. Whether you serve as a volunteer, ministry team member, employee, or leader-in-training, God has entrusted you with influence. This practical workshop will help you learn how to lead from where you are, strengthen relationships, support vision, and positively shape the culture around you. Discover how faithful influence can advance God's kingdom, regardless of your title or role.

Your Monday Mission Field

Dino Silvestri, Mr. Rooter Plumbing

For many believers, the workplace is where they spend the majority of their waking hours. It is also one of the greatest mission fields God has entrusted to them. This workshop will explore how to faithfully follow Christ in a secular work environment while navigating difficult situations, competing values, and professional expectations. Learn practical ways to live out your faith with confidence, integrity, and wisdom while making a meaningful impact on those around you.

Walking with the Deconstructed

Jeremy Olfert, Ness Baptist Church

When a friend or family member begins questioning, doubting, or abandoning their faith, it can leave those who love them feeling confused, discouraged, and uncertain about how to respond. This workshop offers a thoughtful and compassionate look at faith deconstruction, helping participants better understand the experiences and questions that often drive it. Learn practical ways to maintain relationships, extend grace, and remain a faithful witness while trusting God to continue His work in the lives of those who are struggling. Participants will also be encouraged to find renewed confidence in God's calling, recognizing that a loved one's spiritual journey, including that of a child, does not disqualify you from serving faithfully in God's kingdom.

Find Your Place*

Steve Bock & Dina Moniz

If you are looking to volunteer at Grant this year—whether you're new, a long-time member, or seeking a new role—this is for you! Get a clear overview of all volunteer opportunities available and learn how to get involved. We'll outline the process from interest to application and onward. Explore the variety of roles where your unique gifts and talents can contribute to our church's mission. You'll gain insight into the impact of serving in each area and will prayerfully consider where the Lord is leading you in this upcoming season. (*This workshop will be available only on the first round)
